It involves immersing the object to be painted in a water-soluble paint solution as the anode (in anodic electrophoresis) while setting up a corresponding cathode. When mixed with distilled water and subjected to a DC electric field, it undergoes complex physical, chemical, colloid chemistry, and electrochemical changes.
