Electrophoretic coating is a coating technology in which the painted object is impregnated with water-soluble paint as the anode (anodic electrophoresis) and a cathode corresponding to it is set up, and a direct current is passed between the two poles to make the paint evenly coated on the painted object by the physical and chemical effects of the current.
The process flow of electrophoretic coating on general metal surface is as follows: Pre-cleaning → On-line → Oil removal → Washing → Rust removal → Washing → Neutralization → Washing → Phosphating → Washing → Passivation → Electrophoretic coating → Cleaning on the tank → Ultra-filtration → Drying → Off-line.
Electrophoretic coating generally includes four simultaneous processes.
1,Electrophoresis: Under the action of DC electric field, the positively and negatively charged colloidal particles move in the negative and positive direction, also called swimming.
2,Electrolysis: redox reactions are carried out on the electrodes respectively, instead, oxidation and reduction phenomena are formed on the electrodes.
3, electrodeposition: due to the role of electrophoresis, move to the anode near the charged colloidal particles in the template surface body release electrons, and insoluble state deposition, precipitation phenomenon, at this time the formation of paint film.
4,Electroosmosis: Under the action of electric field, the solid phase does not move, but the liquid phase moves. Electroosmosis makes the water contained in the paint film is gradually discharged to the outside of the film, and finally formed almost even the current can not pass, the water content is very low, the resistance is quite high dense paint film.
5,Iron red epoxy electrophoresis paint for example: the electrophoresis paint system modified epoxy resin, butanol, ethanol amine, talc, iron red substance composition, electrophoresis paint mixed with distilled water, under the action of DC electric field, that is, separated into positively charged cations and negatively charged anions, and a series of complex physical chemical colloid chemistry, electrochemical change process.
