2. Electrolysis: Redox reactions occur at the respective electrodes, resulting in oxidation and reduction phenomena.
3. Electrodeposition: Due to electrophoresis, charged colloidal particles migrate near the anode on the template surface, releasing electrons and depositing in an insoluble state. This forms the desired paint film.
4. Electroosmosis: Under an electric field, while the solid phase remains static, the liquid phase moves. This process drives water out of the paint film, resulting in a dense, high-resistance paint film with very low water content, making it nearly impervious to current.
5. For instance, iron red epoxy electrophoresis paint: The system uses modified epoxy resin, butanol, ethanolamine, talc, and iron red substances. When mixed with distilled water and exposed to a DC electric field, it separates into positively charged cations and negatively charged anions, undergoing complex physical, chemical, colloidal, and electrochemical transformations.
